Nemzeti nap / National Day

Szerdán volt a nemzeti fahéjas csiga nap, amit itt, Finnországban Korvapuustinak hívnak, és ami egy finn specialitás. Tudjátok mennyire imádom az édességet, és hogy a sütés az életem. Szerencsére múlt héten említették nekem ezt a napot a Finnish Friendjeim, így megbeszéltük, hogy szerdán közösen süthetünk. Vártam már, hiszen ez tényleg az én terepem. Kóstoltam már előtte a korvapuustit, boltban vettem, mert hogy imádom a fahéjat ( a legjobb barátom tudna róla mesélni). Amikor először kóstoltam, nem ízlett annyira, mert teljesen más, mint az otthoni fahéjas csiga, de nem tudtam volna megmondani, hogy mitől.

Szerda délután megtudtam. Átmentünk az egyik finn lányhoz, hogy közösen sütögessünk és persze pletykáljunk kicsit, sőt még finnül is tanultunk, mert a recept finn volt. Amitől pedig más az itteni, mint az otthoni, az a kardamom. Azt mondták, hogy itt a legtöbb péksütibe tesznek ebből a fűszerből.

Maga a recept nem bonyolult egyébként, egy sima kelt tészta, ki kell nyújtani megszórni fahéjjal és cukorral, majd megsütni. Bár annyira beszélgettünk, miközben csináltuk, hogy a vajat majdnem kifelejtettük a tésztából. 😅

Szerencsére még épp időben jutott eszünkbe, így a végeredmény isteni lett. Bár Tommi azt mondta, hogy nem élete fahéjas csigája, de szerintem igenis jó volt. 😁

Egyébként minden egyre jobb itt, sokkal kevésbé érzek honvágyat, mint eleinte gondoltam. Persze ehhez hozzájárul, hogy valaki feldobja a napjaimat. Az elmúlt néhány nap elég eseménytelen volt, így most nem tudok hosszú posztot írni. Azonban holnaptól indulnak az utazások, és azt hiszem bőven lesz miről beszámolni. A hétvégét közel 80-an egy cottageban töltjük, ami ilyen nyaraló féle Finnországban. Addig is pedig csak annyi leírni valóm van, hogy boldog vagyok. Jövő héten pedig jelentkezem a hétvége részleteivel. Alig várom. 😊

National Cinnamon Roll Day was on Wednesday that is called korvapuusti here, in Finland. You know I love sweets and baking is my life. Luckily, my Finnish Friends mentioned this day last week so we discussed we could make some korvapuusti together on Wednesday. I was waiting for it since it is really my field. I had already tasted it before I bought some in the supermarket since I really love cinnamon (my best friend could tell about it). I did not like as much as cinnamon roll in Hungary. I could not tell what is the difference between them but the taste was so weird here.

I know the difference since Wednesday. We went to the Finnish girl's place to make some korvapuusti together and to gossip a little bit of course and we also learnt some Finnish since the recipe was in Finnish. So cardamom causes the difference between the Finnish and Hungarian cinnamon roll. I was told that Finnish people use cardamom in most pastries. The recipe was not to complicated it was a simple dough, we had to roll it out and hint it with sugar and cinnamon. Although we were talking while we were making the dough so we almost forgot the butter.  😅

Luckily, it came to our mind on time, so the result was really good. Although Tommi said it was not the best korvapuusti he had ever eaten I think it was pretty tasty. 😁

By the way things are getting better and better here. I feel much less homesick than I expected earlier. Of course it is also because there is someone who makes my days better. Last few days were pretyy uneventful so I cannot write a long post today. But travellings are starting tomorrow so there will be many things to write about. Almost 80 of us are going to a cottage for the weekend which is like a weekend house in Finland. Until then I have only one thing to write, I am happy. And you can read the details of the weekend next week. Can't wait for it. 😊
