Egy csipet otthon / A pinch of home

Magyarok, mindenhol csak a magyarok. 

Pontosan 3 hete azzal a gondolattal indultam el otthonról, hogy most négy hónapra elfelejtem a magyar nyelvet, csupán írásban használom majd, illetve ha a szüleimmel beszélek. Majd ez már az első nap megdőlt, amikor kiderült, hogy van még egy magyar erasmusos, illetve egy szlovákikai magyar. Múlt héten pedig kiderült, hogy van még egy magyar a kurzusunkon, aki az egész képzését itt végzi, ő pedig ismert még több magyart. Így hamar heten lettünk, akik itt tanulnak most hosszabb-rövidebb ideig. 

Meg is beszéltük, hogy elmegyünk kávézni egyet, így ma délután beültünk a legjobbnak ítélt kávézóba. Ugyan végül csak négyen voltunk, de nagyon jó volt. Hihehetetlenül furcsa volt ennyit magyarul beszélni, órákig nem kellett másik nyelvre váltani, nagy szabadságot ad, ha az ember saját anyanyelvén fejezheti ki a véleményét. Iszonyat nehéz, hogy egész nap angolul kell gondolkozni, olyan feladatokat megoldani, melyekhez hasonlót sem csináltam még sosem. Így most nagyon feltöltött ez a délután. Persze az hozott minket össze, hogy mind magyarok vagyunk, de ez még nem lenne elég egy jó beszélgetéshez. 

Természetesen a kávé csak hozzáadott a délutánhoz. Bár eleinte nagyon furcsa volt, hogy itt a finneknél előre lefőzött kávé van kirakva, plusz tej, tejszín, cukor, de mostanra már hozzászoktam. Persze nagyobb kávézókban szerencsére van cappuccino és latte, így néha visszatérek a számomra igazi kávéhoz. 

A gofrinak viszont nem sikerült ma ellenállnom, imádom a gofrit, és láttam hogyan néz ki, így elcsábultam. Banános gofrit rendeltem, isteni volt, nem spóroltak a feltétekkel, banán, karamellszósz, óriási gombóc vanília fagyi (aminek tényleg vanília íze volt) és nem kevés tejszínhab. Ahogy egy barátom mondaná, instant diabétesz, de megérte. 😂

Így három hét után pont szükségem volt egy kis feltöltődésre, szóval a legjobbkor jött ez a kis darab otthon. 😊

Hungarians, Hungarians everywhere. 

I left my home exactly three weeks ago with the thought I will forget Hungarian language for the next four months and use it only when I am texting or speaking with my parents. Then I found out there is another Hungarian girl as well and a Slovakian guy who can speak Hungarian already on the first day. I also found out there is one more Hungarian girl at our course last week, who is doing her whole degree program here and who knows more Hungarians. So suddenly there were already seven Hungarians. 

We also talked about going to drink a coffee together so we went to the best coffee shop (Cafe&Bar 21) in the town today. Finally we were only four but it was really fun. Speaking in Hungarian for a longer time was so weird I did not have to change the language for hours. It is a huge freedom if you can express your opinion in your native language. Thinking in English about totally new topics at the university is so hard that it was a huge relief. We went to there together because we are Hungarian, I think that would not be enough for a good afternoon, so this is not the only connection between us, I guess. 

Coffee added even more for the afternoon, of course. Finnish coffee was pretty weird for me at the beginning, since here coffee is made and put in thermoses, you can pour for yourself from them and add some milk or sugar. Although I used to it by now it is good that in bigger coffee shops you can have cappuccino or latte, which are the real coffee for me.

I could not resist the waffle today, I really love it and missed it so I had to try it. I ordered a banana waffle. It was soooooo good, they put a lot of ingredients on it, like banana (of course), caramel sauce, a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream (that really tasted like vanilla) and a lot of whipped cream. As a friend of my would say it was instant diabetes, but it totally worth. 😂

I really needed this afternoon after the first three weeks far from home, so timing was the best to get a pinch of home. 😊
